About The Poultry Tip Site
The Poultry Tip Site explains how to raise broilers from day-old chicks to market, in plain language, for beginners and experienced farmers alike.
Every guide follows the order of a real production cycle: build the house, brood the chicks, feed them, vaccinate on time, spot disease early, and sell at a price that covers your costs. You can read the guides one after another before your first batch, or jump to the page you need in the middle of a cycle.
Why this site exists
Broiler farming looks simple, but small decisions add up: how warm the brooding house is, whether a vaccine is given on the right day, how dry the litter stays, whether feed was costed before the chicks arrived, and whether a buyer is waiting when the birds are ready. Getting these right goes a long way toward a good batch and helps you avoid costly ones.
This site covers broiler farming from start to finish: housing, brooding, feeding, feed planning, vaccination, disease control and marketing, along with a guide to common beginner mistakes and a comparison of broilers and layers. Where it helps, the guides include schedules, tables and worked examples you can apply to your own flock.

How we write our guides
- Drawn from field experience
- The guidance comes from hands-on poultry farming and focuses on what to do at each stage and what to watch for.
- Real examples
- We name actual strains, feed types and common drugs, so you know what to look for when you buy.
- Numbers you can use
- Where a figure varies, we give a realistic range, and the feed planning and pricing guides show you how to calculate your own figures from your farm records.
Who is behind the site
The Poultry Tip Site is created and maintained by Aniekeme Ema, a graduate of Agricultural Economics and Extension from the University of Uyo with practical experience in broiler farming.
